When you attend Prom of the Ages, you are supporting the programs and services provided to the community by KANSEL. A non-profit leader in literacy and adult education.
As a community, we are faced with the challenge to improve the education and literacy skills for individuals of all ages in order to secure a brighter future for the next generation and beyond.
KANSEL was founded in 1989 in the basement of the local Machinist Union to help individuals find, retain and promote to higher paying employment. Since then, KANSEL has grown to serve more than 1,000 families each year.
The programs and services offered help to address the growing need for intervention at multiple ages and levels. Below are highlights of KANSEL's current programs and services.
Students 16 and older earn their High School Diploma.
Students 16 and older from all over the world attend KANSEL to learn English, as a tool to work on their education and workforce skills.
A free performance arts program for youth ages 8 to 18. Performing arts has a direct and strong tie to academic and literacy skills increases and performance.
Individual workshops and programs for students and parents to improve literacy and academic skills through popular themes and topics.
